Also planning to check LinkedIn and other resources. Welcome advice on searching generally, resume (haven’t touched since LS), etc. Interested in HOU and DAL (though not trad energy) and my practice is roughly split between M&A/PE transactions and capital markets (SPACs, trad IPOs, HY, Section 13/16 reporting, etc.). I have a offer from company A and also selected for HR round of L&T , they asked to share the offer letter on mail for salary negotiation and i had the words with HR on call , she said i can share my offer letter there is no problem all people do like this
Now i got rejected in HR round due to salary expectation

Will some one missuse to my offer letter or
The Company A can reject my candidature as i have shared the offer letter with other company ?? If they will know ?

Anyone experience BCG rejection email saying that they’ve reached hiring needs and that they’ll reach out in the fall for following year start date? I got this for 2023 start and just wondering whether there’s a chance this is just a rejection and should look for other jobs or whether it’s worth waiting for. I know who the hiring manager is but have yet to connect with them but I am worried my application will get lost in the shuffle.

Would it be fine to reach out to the hiring manager on LinkedIn as my application is under review or should I just wait it out?

I need more insight. I just got done with my on-site interview (flew 1,000 miles) they paid for everything. I had interviews with the director, CNO, and fellow managers. The CNO was fourth coming with all information and said they would develop me to reach my career goals. The managers were telling me the good school districts etc. and we’re agreeing with my answers during the interview. I’m probably going to end up over analyzing everything until I hear back. Any thoughts?

My SO is scared to ask his parents for his money back. The money they were holding on to for him. Now that he’s a grown man I think he’s old enough to hold on to his own money. Those with unlimited PTO policies, how many days do you take off per year? Recently switched jobs and trying to plan vacation time for New Years and early spring and have no clue what’s considered acceptable.

I just put in my two weeks to go to an AM 100 law firm to work in a niche practice area. I've never worked in a firm before. I started of doing compliance (non-attorney role) and then went in-house (acting GC for medium size company got a year). Any advice for someone who never had firm experience? If you went back to a firm what do you think you would have to prepare for? (Besides billiable hours and no life. ) Also, fwiw, I graduate in 2018.

Has anyone waived in to MN before as in house counsel? One of the requirements is actively practicing law for 36 of the last 60 months. I was in compliance for a number of years and am wondering if that will be a snag. I did perform legal functions but it mentions demonstrate evidence of and so I was just curious about any experience others may have had.

I just got an offer for an in-house position that I want to take. How do I approach negotiating salary?

Does anyone else’s company do “secondments”? I was asked to “look into” this? Someone who is a non attorney executive had a great idea they could save money and have outside counsel “at their disposal” 24/7 and on-site? Is that how this works? I know we spend a lot of $ on outside counsel but I don’t see how one of them having an office on-site adds much value? Maybe it’s a good thing. I am supposed to “report back.” Are they a joint employee? I was asked to advise “what this will look like.”

It seems like FAANG paid their in house lawyers the most based on several threads. How hard is it to get a job at one of them for a 3-4th year associate coming from a v10 bog law firm? Is there any other type of industry/company that pays similar to FAANG?

At what point in a new job do you start to get a feel on how the GC wants you to draft documents? I’m a second year attorney who just went in house a month ago to a company where it’s just the GC and I. He’s been a great mentor so far and knows I’m a novice, but I always feel horrible when I spend hours on a contract draft and he changes all of my redlines.

Just curious, for others who transitioned in house from a firm, when did you fully realize/appreciate the benefits of your transition? I moved about six months ago and it’s taken some time to adjust, but I think I’m finally getting there. I have to laugh at how “busy” everyone claims to be all the time, clearly no where near law firm levels of busy. Just wondering what the light bulb moment was for others to think “yup, this is what I’d always been looking for.”
