We’re at 8 months and hit a regression around 7.5 as well. What helped for us is making sure she only took 2 naps a day (vs 3), no naps longer than 1.5 hours and I increased her day bottles by an ounce each bottle. She was previously at 6.5 and I increased to 7.5. This worked for us! Hopefully it works for you too!
Gotta let them cry it out or it’ll continue. It’ll be a rough few days, but they get back in to routine quickly. We had a similar thing happen, and they’ll continue to want a bottle as long as you keep offering it.
Let him cry it out. I decided to give my daughter a bottle to calm her down and has been struggling ever since ( and she’s now 3 😰).

Id slowly cut that bottle back. I don’t mind CIO, but I do not like doing CIO when baby is legit hungry. Push the feed by 15 mins a day and decrease the amount. So if today you fed him 5oz at 2:00, tomorrow you don’t feed until 2:15 and it’s 4.5oz.
I find that after you push a couple of days, they stop waking at all.
Both of my kids have gone through various regressions due to illness/development and we’ve always gotten them back on track. Your baby will be a good sleeper again :)
I never do cry it out. As others have said, take a look at naps. Both of my boys needed to eat through the night until they were one in order to not fall off their growth curve. I don’t go 12 hours without eating and wouldn’t expect my babies too. 🤷🏼♀️

Either go cold turkey on the bottle and CIO. Or, if you want to be gentler, reduce his current middle of night bottle by 1/2 ounce every other night until it’s gone or he stops wanting it. Then do CIO if he doesn’t sleep thru on his own
When is it okay to cut that middle of the night feed? My son is 5 months old and is growing great in his curve but is still smaller than most and the pediatrician told us to not cut down his middle of the night feeds for now. He sleeps at about 7.30 pm and wakes up at 3:30 am for a feed and then goes back to sleep and wakes up at around 7:15 am. He drinks about 5 oz during the 3 am. Wondering if we should cut it or wait for a bit?
He was 12 pounds in his 4 month visit. He’s healthy and has met his milestones early too so maybe we can start to sleep train him after I check with his doctor
Could also be a growth spurt? If he’s getting enough calories through the day and the middle of night feed is for comfort, you could let him CIO / sleep train in your preferred method
