EY OP only said that to D1 because it's true

Our internal systems are awful. I came from Deloitte and the contrast is there.

I heard EY essentially doesn't have expense accounts since each legitimate expense is pushed back on... Good luck getting cheap coffee let alone $8 water

^true. There was a long post about how archaic our internal systems are. I landed on a page once where they was a justification that gT&E was built during a time when mobile/digital was not envisioned... So it's not going to render well on your iPhone... 🙄

Lots of post about kids so I’ll offer one that’s been on my mind. Why more than one kid? I grew up with a sibling. She is my best best friend but as I’ve gotten older realized we were more of the exception. Lucky that we are same gender (which I do think impacts closeness), that we are close in age, and just clicked like bffs. Have since met so many sibs with non existent and toxic relationships. More kids = more expense. After passing on genes and getting love of a child, why have more than one

I'll be renovating my house (gut all existing bathrooms and kitchen, extend house to make room for an extra bathroom). It's currently my primary residence but I likely have to move in early 2022 to another city where I also own a house and then I plan to rent my current residence via Airbnb. What should I consider from a tax perspective? For example, if my current residence becomes an investment property before or when I renovate, does the renovation count as a tax deductible expense?

My employer doesn't care where we live so long as we can get to an airport. I grew up in a small town, so it wouldn't be a shock to me, just worried about how it may affect my career trajectory.

Random Question - I live with a roommate for the last 2 years now. We have become really good friends and she is like a sister to me. We used to hangout and do a lot of fun stuff before COVID. When I make a plan to do something during COVID, I always include her to do or go somewhere. Of late, when she makes plans, she goes on her own or if she goes with her friends (whom I know), she would not invite me. I feel left out and sad because of it. I think I should not feel that way as she can
