I find it very interesting that my client pays more per week for my travel than for my time...

$108 = 2 days

Yeah I've always wondered about this. Don't know if the current consulting model will be sustainable as more and more clients wise up or rely more on tech.

Damm...108 per diem. In the US?

Which city per-diem is that ?

Negotiated rate w/client but it's Columbus, OH. $54/day.

At least you got a deal on the hotel

EY2, how is that possible?

I had a client force a senior manager to fly back to the US on short notice during an international business trip for a weekend cut over to literally just sit there with the team because he was worried about the go live and felt like he should be there. The only flight that would get him back in time was a $5k+ first class ticket. He basically just came back sat with us while we executed the deployment plan and everyone went home.

I’m curious to hear from people at other firms what is offered in terms of part time work or alternative work options for people that don’t really care about making partner and might want to work part time. I just had my second child and want to ask to come back from maternity leave on a part time basis but our firm doesn’t seem to have anything in place right now. If your firm offers this, what’s the billable requirement, how much of a pay cut is it, and do you still get benefits? Thanks!

Currently interviewing with BRG in their Turnaround and Restructuring division and was wondering if anyone knew whether their compensation structure is similar to A&M's, as in the bonus being tied as a % to your billable / utilization rate? And if so, are there restrictions of any kind, like it starts applying after you hit a title, etc?
