9 rules for a better life:

1. Smile more
2. Prioritize self-care
3. Cut off toxic people
4. Don't be afraid to fail
5. Spend more time with family
6. Read 1 new book each month
7. Focus on things you can control
8. Embrace progress, not perfection
9. See opportunities where others see obstacles

Wow! Thats a great one! Thank you for sharing

I love these OP and I am glad that you shared them because they are all good reminders. There are a couple of these I could be better about but for the most part I feel like I really do incorporate most of them and am overall a very happy and joyful person.

Nice to hear that and you are welcome! I like to read these every now and then as well to remind myself

Exercise! Is a good one and definitely important! We must make time although I realize life always doesn’t allow time for it

my boyfriend admitted to me today that he feels like my stomach is "bigger than he initially thought". we met on a dating app and have been together 4 months. he says that i looked thinner in my photos.

the pictures i had were recent/present-day so im confused. im 5'10 and a sz. 12. im definitely not skinny, but am curvy in some areas and was always comfortable with my body. i asked him if he thinks im fat or if he's not attracted to me and he says no. so im like, well why did you say that?

Our 5 month old started daycare about 5 weeks ago. We’ve already had to keep her home for 2.5 of those 5 weeks due to catching various illnesses (croup, rsv, brinchiolitis, etc). Both my wife and I have been sick most of that time as well (gotten it from the baby). Wife is thinking we get a full time nanny for the next 4 months to help the baby build antibodies. Cost aside, is this feasible / worthwhile to go thru the effort / finding the right fit, only for 4 months?

In case anyone would like to spare themselves a heart attack stroke and possibly spreading Covid to a large group of people as you run around screaming for help. If you child goes missing and doesn’t respond to you calling her name despite screaming it at the top of your lungs 50 times check under the blankets her room. She could be a very sound sleeper and entirely huddled under the blanket on the floor. Also don’t trust your 12 year old to check under the blanket either before calling 911.

Married 🐠 interested in your thoughts.
I married my girlfriend from college after being together for an extended time. We love each other, and I feel like we are each other’s best friend. But now I can’t help but feel guilty for regretting that the “passion” is gone from our relationship. I’ve always prioritized stability and now I can’t help but wonder what it would have been like to sow more wild oats. My sense is that this is not uncommon but I am not sure how to feel/what to do about it.

Any New York attorneys come across any interesting or helpful case law lately? Reading a recent update, there was a decision that said where a parent uses a temporary order of legal and physical custody to exclude the other parent, it's within the Court's rights (with other factors) to interpret that as an inability to coparent and award custody to the prior non-custodial parent. Share away!

Decided I finally want to try to get back into shape after years of neglect. I found a personal trainer a few months ago that can work around my schedule, but the quote I received last week seemed really high. It’d be 1-on-1 and at a private studio, so I knew it’d be slightly expensive, but the monthly cost is like $1,500 for 12 sessions. Is that reasonable? This is in a HCOL city.
