What’s the acceptable minimum time to spend in strategy consulting post-MBA to be worth it for the career boost and exit opps? Is 1.5 years enough or 2 years is minimum?

Are there services that can append anonymous demographic information (specifically age) using only a credit card # processed by a retail client?

Anyone have thoughts on Hudson Advisors/Lone Star Funds if you’re in the dfw area? Know anything about working there? Don’t know much about them, if anything at all

What is the path to a GC for a senior associate on a TN? I’ve been with my firm since college (2 years) - firm policy is that they initiate the process after a two year tenure (and provided you are senior associate rank, at minimum). Will I be able to pass the PERM evaluation? If not, would things get easier with a subsequent promotion? Or would it be best to lateral to a new firm and start the process there? Sorry, super green when it comes to this

Culture/workload/hours between B4 vs mid-tier?

I understand that traditional vs. Roth 401k depends on tax bracket now vs. expected tax bracket in retirement. And of course there is the risk of changing tax laws. But what if you just don't know? Do you just split 50/50? Or once you're making over a certain amount, does it naturally make more sense to lean towards traditional? Not sure what other people do and what income level they make the shift to traditional, if at all.

What’s the best way to stand out in boutique consulting firms? Is it similar to B4?

Interviewing for a business development role at a middle market PE firm. Long term I’m hoping to be on the deals/investment side of PE. Is BD a bad move? I see this as my best chance at getting my foot in the door of PE.

I’ve never been a regular vacation-taker, but now I’m resolved to become one. Especially because my company has an unlimited PTO policy. Would 4 weeks of total vacation per year be considered a lot/excessive at your company? I’m thinking of doing two one week vacations, and one two week vacation, and booking them far in advance.

We are trying to get pregnant (fertility issues) and I just got promoted. I am now terrified that having a baby will delay my progression. I know I have time but I don’t want to be held back!

Here we go: wife laid off, their office closing (non-consulting)
