A big tech firm is massively low balling me on comp. If I take the offer now, how soon can I leave the firm if I get another offer?

A year or two probably. How low?

Current comp $210k. Offer: ~$165k

6 YOE

An year? Can’t I leave in a few months if I find another job?

Not without paying back a signing bonus

What’s current comp, YOE, and new comp?

Why would this offer even be a consideration?

So you’re a post-MBA at BCG and you’re applying for a Manager role at Google. Did I guess right ?!

Lol.... not answering this.

My firm has a collections budget (80% of your billable rate x 1850 hours) and an hourly budget that must be met in order to be eligible for a bonus. The firm cares very little about originations and will reward someone for making their collections over someone who brings in new work. I missed my collection budget due to some odd timing with a client, but originated more than all my peers so no bonus for me. I’ve been at this same mid level firm for 9 years and it’s all I know. Is this normal??

For IP Litigation folks in life sciences/pharma - what are the likely exit options? I definitely could use the extra paycheck to help out with my financial obligations. Just wanted to see if anyone has done this before.

I spent the first few years out of school working in music before getting into advertising as an account person. Quickly realized it wasn’t for me. Busted my ass working with the creatives on the side until I was able to build a decent enough portfolio for an agency to take a chance on me as a full time CW. I think I’ll be a Senior CW soon, but it feels like most folks my age (30) have been in that role for a bit or already past it. Since I can’t turn back time, any tips for catching up?

Someone recommended a water spritz to get him away from the food. I basically soaked him for a few minutes while he stared at me and continued eating. Looks like I'll have to lock him up while the dogs eat from now on.

Looking at exits into pharma and biotech. Have an opp at a biotech at the SM level. Total comp excluding equity is around $190k; RSUs vest over 4 years with annual refreshers, so first year equity would be around $6,200 and it would go up by $6,200 each of the next 3 years, plus whatever base bump I get. Very good benefits package.

They envision 2-3 years before I jump either to AD or right to D. Solid opp? Or hold out to go straight to director level?
