A bit nervous about the transition to FAAS from audit (3 years experience). What should I expect in the first few months.

You should expect the unexpected. I'm in a similar situation and it's been one of the worst experiences of my life

Manager 1, how so? What tasks were you assigned when you started?

Depending on your audit experience it will vastly vary. Did you work on one or just a few clients your entire career with established work papers so it’s mostly just SALY? You’re going to struggle. A lot. Did you work on a bunch of messy start ups or new clients with no prior year work papers? You will be just fine.

Biggest changes are: 1) pace of work since things move a lot faster; 2) originality of work, there are some examples/templates but clients don’t pay for you to SALY; 3) might not matter at a senior level but BD work is very different than audit.

I feel like things are slow right now. Expect a lot of research/BD projects in the beginning, putting together tear sheets or benchmarking things with minor AAS type work in between.

You got this! Doing the same transition in a couple weeks. Honestly, based on my interviews we are a ahead compared to these folks in faas.

Does anyone who is newer to the profession like going into the office? I’ve been remote for my first year of practice. I got an offer for a firm that requires face time 3-4 days a week. I’m quite introverted so I think working in office could be good for my development long term. Thoughts?

I recently interviewed for a position that was below my salary requirements so the interviewer forwarded me a role that is inline with salary but quite a bit outside of my skill set (and interest, tbh). How do I politely reject the opportunity while keeping the door open to other roles more closely aligned with my career goals/interests?

Hi All, please provide your inputs.
Which of the following opportunity is better in terms of learning opportunities, technical and career growth.

1) JP Morgan, Banglore - 18 LPA (fixed) - Apache spark, Java.
2) CITI, Pune - 21.7(fixed) - C10, Java+Angular full stack developer role
3) Barclays, Pune - 18.5 LPA (fixed) - BA3, Java backend developer

Experience: 4.10 yrs
My current location is nearer to Pune.

TIA!

Hi fishies 🐠 I’m an Art Director that’s trying to transition over to UX Design. I have experience building websites and some previous freelance work doing some UI/UX. What’s the best route to transition over and would I need to apply for entry level roles? Does an AD role with a UI/UX focus even exist? I enjoy the thinking of UX design and am comfortable designing interfaces but I’m mostly unsure of the process of working with an UX team. Would love to hear your thoughts!
