A brief review after a week with the new Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43. My first Breitling and it’s fantastic. The detailed dial with the slide rule bezel is fascinating. Also love the exhibition case back. Overall the watch feels less substantial than my Rolexes and other watches and it seems to wear smaller than the 43mm size suggests. The crown is also a bit uncomfortable to wind since it’s so close to the serrated bezel. More in the comments.

The style is terrific and it seems to go with everything. I got the calfskin rather than the alligator strap, and I’m happy with the choice. I think the gator would look a bit more formal.

This would be a great first watch for anyone getting into the hobby.

This is truly an amazing and underrated watch, and agree that it definitely wears smaller than the 43mm suggests. It’s because of two things: it’s only 48mm in lug to lug length, and the dial appears smaller because of the contrasting calculator bezel.

Such a great movement as well. It says a lot when the 👑 uses the B01 in the Tudor chronograph movements.

Enjoy it!

Great watch OP, love it.
One question, what does “less substantial” mean? Are you saying it feels like, wears smaller, feels less solid, etc? Not really sure what you meant with that comment.

It’s a little subjective and hard to describe. Just less solid, less heft, etc. than my other watches. But still very high quality, so not a complaint, just an observation.

What does the watch do? I don’t have a Breitling, so I’m curious if this a chronograph? Looks like one. Or does it have additional functions?

It’s a chrono with a slide rule bezel.
The slide rule works as what pilots would call a whiz wheel that helps with speed / time / distance / fuel calculations. It seems a tad impractical to have ever used it that way, but would be a good back up in case you lost or broke your whiz wheel back in the day.

Hello fishes!
I need some guidance, please.
I started out, many years ago, collecting swatches - when they first came out. After high school, and through college didn’t add anything to the “collection”. Got father and fil’s old Omegas (circa 70s/80s vintage) bought a couple of nice dress watches (Raymond Weil and Longines) with the intent to, at some point in the future, buy a few proper luxury watches. That was about 20 years ago and I’ve not pulled the trigger. Transitioned to Fitbit (cont’d.)

Folks - Selling my Marathon GSAR Anthracite that I bought from Long Island Watch in 2020. The watch has been worn very few times and is in brilliant condition with no dents or scratches. The strap also has the ‘brand new’ vanilla scent that Marathon is known for. Watch comes with original box and papers (not photographed as they are in storage). $900 inc. shipping within CONUS.

DM me if interested :)

From this past weekends WSJ. I think i know where the members of this bowl lean!! That said, this piece misses the mark; it ignores the fact that many people wear watches because they love them, not because they have “people to impress”. Also found it a bit odd a Tudor GMT is referenced twice in a row on the left column.
