Making mu fall schedule is crazy!
Ok, who has started their Xmas shopping??
New to Fishbowl?

Let Admin do their job IF parents/students complain. Until then, I would ignore it. My staff parking lot is littered with different kinds of stickers (even ideological) and everyone is doing just fine.
You should mind your own darn business.

Is there something wrong with proudly supporting our constitution and the amendments within? It's alarming if you don't support your rights and the rights of others.
Is the sticker tacky? Maybe. But that's just your opinion.
I find many social justice stickers tacky or distasteful. But again, it's just an opinion.
As much as we like to think our opinions matter, they really don't.
Pro
Your opinion matters to you, does it not?
Their car, their opinion, their right.

It doesn't matter whether a parent agrees with the 2nd amendment or not.
Sorry can't leave this alone. Why would you think you have the right or need to do anything. That is their car, their opinion and their business. They are doing nothing illegal or even immoral. Driving their car to school isn't even promoting their ideas in the classroom. You are way out of bounds for thinking you should or get to do anything. I'm not even a gun guy and this drives me crazy. But you go ahead and work to get them in trouble. Then post somewhere else here about how the morale of your school sucks and you can't figure out why. How our country is just so divisive and how you just wish we could all get along....except for those crazies who dare to think differently than you. Also look up "Karen" in the slang dictionary. You will find your picture.
I love how the left agrees to free speech when they agree with it and are the first to squash it when they disagree.

🤦🏽♀️✌🏽 and yet schools can infringe on your right to carry. Wild.
Unless it is against the handbook or some rule in place, I would say no. It is not breaking any laws, and they are free to do so. If enough students complain, maybe admin will do something. But no staff should go complaining to admin about such a small thing that is perfectly legal. If you know it will cause issue with students, I say let it do so rather than go to admin speculating. When (and if) it creates a stir, admin will be forced to act, no one will be hurt by a sticker, and you aren’t a snitch who got all bent out of shape from a bumper sticker.
Valid point here.
How about "None of the above."
I guarantee if there's a disruption, it won't be that person with the 2A sticker who starts it.
I would say leave it alone. The same right you have to ask your question on here is the same right they display a bumper sticker that is neither demonstrating foul language or is discriminatory.
Chief
I would do neither.
This falls under the area of not your business. The teacher has a right to support the second amendment. As far as I know there is no rule about advertising this fact on your car. In addition, they are also protected by the first amendment.

The first gives the right to put stickers on your car?
I think my public education failed me...
I think people can have any bumper sticker or decal they want l, even the real tacky ones!
You’re right, I’m not a decal bumper sticker gal. Lol
Pro
Advertising your weapon status is a short sighted and foolish thing to do.
This person wants an argument, don't engage.
It’s their right, just like my pride sticker is my right.

I first thought this was sarcasm. Let it be. None of your business what someone does with their private property. If there is a district rule about no decal or bumper stickers (which would be illegal anyways), speak up. Otherwise, just because you or other teachers disagree doesn't mean you need to be a Karen about it (sorry if "Karen offends anyone). Sorry, but this is just the most Karen post on this site in a long time.
Just mind your own business, good grief. In our state, half the trucks probably have that sticker on them.
I can remember going to high school and kids from the country parked their truck in the parking lot with rifles on a rifle rack in back window. Cars were left unlocked and you didn’t have to worry about someone getting in your car, stealing your rifles, much less the thought of shooting someone. Love those days!
I tend to think they are hoping for confrontation or possibly discomfort. If staff parks where parents are likely to see it I might bring it up to admin so they are prepared for parental concerns.
Do we shed our autonomy just because we are teachers? I see so many threads about letting kids express themselves, yet this teacher isn’t given the same respect. In Tinker v. De Moines the Supreme Court ruled students didn’t shed their first amendment rights at school. The school must prove the action would "materially and substantially interfere" with daily operations. I would hope this applies to teachers and hardly think a decal on a car in the parking lot can do this.

I wouldn’t say anything to anyone, but I also wouldn’t hang out with that person. Ever.
IHS1, I hear your story over and over again ever since the “summer of love” in 2020 and with the rest of the country seeing the viral videos from the West Coast. Many people who were against guns “in theory” suddenly understood the reasoning of rural Americans who see the need for a force multiplier that can stop potential crimes when the police response is impossible to rely upon. I can’t get police response in my area within a half hour under the best of circumstances. So if I am going to have someone stand up for me or my family in the face of potential threat, that defender has to come from under my own roof. And I have used guns for defense multiple times and I know plenty of other who also had to do so.
Chief
I’d ignore it simply because those individuals are looking to cause confrontation and unrest. I wouldn’t give them either.
Chief
If you think a tennis racket and a gun are in the same category, I have no desire to have a conversation with you. ✌🏽
