Hi Fishes, Pls help,
YOE: 13 yrs
Cctc: 13 lpa
Have cleared HCL interview. Initially they offered 23 lpa (via proposed offer letter), but i requested to reconsider it for 25 lpa.
After 5 days, they sent final offer letter of 19 lpa (stating they can offer max 50% as per L4 approval).
Queries:
1. Is this normal or rare case, reducing the offer amount from what quoted initially?
2. Should I accept or negotiate?
I don't have any other offer as of now.

Yes they will likely ask the manager of partner if they know you and for some feedback.

If it makes you feel better anytime I was asked about someone, I didn't tell anyone else. Even had a situation where the person applying worked with my partner on another engagement and I didn't tell the partner. Figured its none of my business
Agree - I’ve sat in on multiple meetings with clients and SM where the client either gossips on who from EY applied to positions and why they were or weren’t considering them or asking for their opinions on their performance/knowledge
If it’s something you’re truly interested in, I’d send a note to the client to the effect that you saw the open position, were interested in applying, but are not at a place where you want the people you work with to know. If they come back with “no problem, secret’s safe with me”, then I’d go ahead and apply. If not, maybe that’s not the culture you’d want to work with anyway.
