I was hired as a client service associate, and had to get the SIE and S7 certifications to secure my employment, been here for a year now and really want to be part of the business aspect. I’ve ended up being stuck at the front answering calls, cleaning up the conference room and babysitting the office while the FAs go on conferences and have big meetings. I really want to be part of it more and have a seat at the table. Any advice for how to take me career development into my own hands?
I have a tax project that is large term project to do and willing to pay someone that has some time to actually do it. I’m drowning in work and other school work and as I’m not in tax LoS it is tough
Does anyone here work in EY for qualcomm client? Landed a role for a data warehousing project. Wanted to know more about avg work hours - any weekend shifts?
Where do you draw the line between sexism and being old-fashioned? I’m a young female on a mostly male defense project and one of the older men always opens car doors for me, refuses to let me hold a door or drive anywhere, and seems to strongly believe in traditional gender roles in his own family. I believe he thinks this is being respectful, but it rubs me the wrong way.
Got a client solutions role at Facebook but also a strategy & product analytics opp at NYT. If strategy & product is end goal, is NYT a better choice? Scared to give up FAANG
Anyone have a long distance significant other in their client city? How do you deal with expectations to see each other everyday / be out at a reasonable hour to hang out?
What would you do if your manager keeps lashing out at you and always apologizing later? The Director tells me to bare with him because he suffers from PTSD from active duty. I think the company doesn’t want to let him go to be carefully legally but I can’t take it anymore. I’ve saved two emails of his apologies and asked for a project transfer. Nothing
I need a little guidance on this one: I have a team member whose role is to make certain key decisions for our client. When she joined, I learned she has kids in school. I run our meetings. I’ve been incredibly flexible for her schedule, changed meetings around, and have never asked twice about her having to miss any. She hasn’t stepped up in her role compared to others in her position. I assumed she’s shy and constantly ask for her opinion so to encourage her confidence. Today I…

I would love to hear from anyone who has taken this path before and bonus points if you’ve worked for Paragon. Thanks!

How do you get over a failed effort? I did learn a lot from this project and know I would do better next time. Despite that, I am still depressed and anxious over this.
A couple days ago was emailed by my SM who cc: another SM and our MD on the account. They were thanking me for all the hard work I’ve been doing. Our MD said it was great to see a new team member playing such an important role. I replied bla bla. They then talked about how they world set up time to talk about my future on the project. For context I’m a campus hire 3months in on a tech implementation. I don’t see myself on this project long term doent align with my end goals. Should I express
Hi Folks, Did you hear about PMTG- project management talent group? Is it some new emerging offering. You have any idea about it and your thoughts regards to be a part of it?
Hi ladies. I work in IT consulting and we don’t typically have to put notes in for billable hours, but a few weeks ago my boss asked me to start entering notes, about what exactly I was working on for client A,B,and C. I just said sure and didn’t ask why. I found out today from other colleagues that no one else was asked to enter notes in for their time. What’s a good way to ask my boss why the new change? I’d at least like to know if I did something wrong so I can improve.
So my client is “business casual” but everyone typically wears suits without the tie. How do you guys structure different outfits? I feel like I’m running out of clothes already and need to buy more
Folks who are on a H1/L1 visa, how do you handle the income out of a rental property? Do you hire a property manager? How much would they charge approximately and is it worth it?
Let’s discuss gender pay gaps by assessing our own discrepancies. I’ll start. I’m a 29 YO female, almost 6 years experience total, at a 115 base, guaranteed 126 if I meet utilization, with potential for more bonus. No target school or MBA. I’m happy with where I’m at, but are my male counterparts on here making more or relatively the same?

A bit of a sensitive topic. My son is 3. One of friends has 3 boys and she asked me to babysit them one weekend. The middle child, 10 years old is very handsy with my son. I’ve asked him multiple times to not carry him or hug him since he doesn’t like it and the boy still manages somehow to find his way to be physically close to my son. Today while I had my back turned to them while they were all eating at the dining table I heard a kiss sound and turned to see the… Cont’d below

I have taken two sections of the CPA exam through California. Due to the 9 month window, I only applied for two sections initially. I just mailed my $50 reapp payment to the CBA. How long does it take to get re-approved so that I can schedule the last two sections ASAP? Thanks!

What’s the Capgemini Invent compensation range for senior consultant? Glassdoor range is huge. For ref 7 YEO, would be looking for £75k - could that be expected?
How accurate LinkedIn’s “For employees based in Colorado salary”? Was hoping to get about 20k more than what is listed. Is this a hard number? Or is there room to negotiate?
All Deloitte guys, can you please tell me if Deloitte will revise my offer if I show a recent offer with higher compensation? 15 Days left for joining.
I am moving from first to third grade this year. I love using the theme of Dr Seuss. Is this an appropriate theme for a third grade classroom?
Hypothetical that I'm trying to quantify for myself. Say I make $100k and feel I can comfortably spend $2k on rent. Assume for arguments sake, I'm happy at this level with savings, social life, etc. I get a raise to $120k. What can I now afford in rent? A) $2.4k. I got a 20% raise, so I can spend 20% more in rent. B) $3.6k. I got a $20k raise, so I can spend $1.6k (rounded) more in rent. C) Somewhere in the middle Traditional thinking tells me A is correct, but it seems conservative.
Want to buy property in / near NYC. I know with covid prices in the city (I’m assuming the 5 boroughs) went down, while prices outside of the city went up. Is that enough of a move in the market to make it worth it to buy in the city (and not in Long Island for example)?
How can I not be awkward at conferences where all my remote coworkers that I've never met will be there? I have an issue with awkward silence and not knowing what to say or how to act.
