There's really no such thing as "sports law" if you think about it. My firm represents some college conferences and pro teams for certain matters, but it's treated just like any other matter. If it's a lease, it goes to a real estate lawyer. If it's a vendor contract, to contracts/commercial. Premises liability at the stadium? Litigation. And so on.

That's not a specific enough question from your friend. Athletes, teams, leagues, international governing bodies and stadium owners all require many different kinds of work.
