Lmao love it. After I told someone I worked at BCG they said “oh is that a small firm? Have you heard of deloitte ? My cousin works there maybe I can get you an interview there” #MBBD
Well it is harder to get into than Harvard. Haven’t you heard?
When I come up for air and talk to normal people, it’s always a blank stare and “wait, what exactly is consulting?” And then “Oohhh ok, yeah you should meet my friend, she’s an [insert MLM company] consultant!” Makes me question how much of my life I devote to this 😂
That’s why I’m here. Can’t beat the layman’s prestige

My parents used to tell their friends I worked at Accenture instead of MBB... To this day, I think they still believe I would be better at a “real firm”.

Hahaha my father had someone from BCG call him for market research on work he leads. Him: “one of yours called me today” Me: “oh yeah, which firm?” Dad: “idk. They were from a Boston consulting group, but live in Pittsburgh and I told them I wasn’t interested if they wouldn’t tell me where they worked” Me: “......” To be clear, I do like BCG, but I didn’t clarify for him. 🤷♀️

I’ve had the same thing happen! Friend of my SO asked what I did and I said I worked for BCG (not expecting it to impress her though) and she asked if it was like KPMG.
