firm. First, I don’t know how he knows this unless the firms share this information. Second, my manager keeps asking me to ask him at group meetings where he is actually going to. I am kind of disgusted since it seems like I am being drafted into harassing someone. Report?

That's not harassment

It just doesn’t seem right, I don’t know what the hell you call it, but am I the only one who has a problem with it?

like

1) your manager can't do anything about this person leaving, they're just being mosey
2) people are going to leave all the time. There's a lot of turnover in this game.
3) you don't have to do anything where you don't feel comfortable

like

So what’s your problem

Ask your manager how he knows.

What does it matter? Leave it be.

So don’t ask and say you did. Easy

Sounds like your manager is being childish; how old are they?

Went from IT Audit -> Analyst. 58k to 150k. 2018->2021. I wouldn’t do a masters unless you absolutely feel like you need it. There are so many online resources to help you. Don’t try and jump to big tech company first. Get your feet wet and some random company and get the basic analytics and programming fundamentals down then move after a year or so.

I’m a mid level engineer and my team is overwhelmed. There’s more work than we can complete in the timelines that leadership/product has committed to, which is causing leadership to override technical decisions seemingly to meet those deadlines. An example would be routing all live traffic to a feature which was not fully tested, instead of waiting until testing is complete or having that change be dormant and the feature enabled later. Has anyone dealt with this type of issue?

Hi. Lawyer of around 8 years (both big law and inhouse experience). Finally decided to accept the sunk costs as I have never been happy with my job.

After doing some serious soul searching, I want to pivot into SWE/web development. Preferably full stack. Only on point experience is having built 3 personal websites in Wordpress = nothing but something that shows my passion?

Going to try for the bootcamp path. But, would love to speak to some SWEs. I think 70% of my network is lawyers.
