Reapply. But to be honest, I don't know why they didn't proactively reach out to you, It's possible the internal candidate did not work out or left the company.

Also, is it common to reach out to a candidate that previously applied for the role?

Definitely reapply!! The promotion probably didn’t work out or the person quit. Assuming you’re still interested, just say you’d like to resubmit yourself

Just apply. If they like you they will call you

Definitely let her know you ended up turning down the prior offer, and you are still interested in the position. Ask her if you should formally reapply.

As someone who has only worked at EY and has no other work experience or “passion,” how do I begin looking? I’m a high performer in CA with a cpa and working in tax but I don’t feel like I have enough time for myself with all the extra work from people leaving during the never ending busy seasons. I’m in my mid twenties and feel like work is my life. I think I’ll be satisfied with six figures for a while, which I’d be pretty close to after my raise in October anyways, and 40 hour work weeks.
