I'm in NYC (just moved) and have great lighting, space, and an elevator and a garage and a balcony. You don't have to move out of the city if you're not sure about work. you can just move around here. Not sure your range or neighborhood preferences, but I think you can make due here if you want to.

Yep, dishwasher, washer dryer. Literally living a dream, and it didn't take me long to find it, even while searching from across the country Not sure your range but you can DM me if you want to look up my address- I think a neighbor just moved and not sure if that apt had been rented yet

Move down south. We now own two homes over 3k sq feet for the same price as our New York apartment rent.
I’m in Atlanta. I pay in mortgage for a home in the city what me + roommates did in rent for NYC 8 years ago. Very urban. Good mix of demos. DM if you want to chat.
Why is this a concern? Yes move! What’s worse, 3 days of insanity moving or a year of what you’re currently living in?

Cont..should we just bite the bullet and move and figure out the rest later?

In demand and have enough in savings to cover a long period of unemployment

First off a 1 bedroom w/ a baby is difficult no matter how you spin it. To be so little they sure do take up tons of space like they own the place. Congrats on your baby!
Yes! Move! This was exactly me and my husband and before we started trying for a baby, we moved to the suburbs. Tons more space and so happy. We keep thinking back what would've happened to us if we stayed in that tiny walk up apt. We would have died.
Move to a different place! There are great rent deals happening right now all over the city. Get a two bedroom or at least a nice 1 bd 1.5 ba in a building with amenities!
Move! Best decision ever and don’t miss my apartment.
To another city? Do you own your place? More specifics needed

We would have to move in New York for now since my husband still thinks he will go to his office at some point (we are wfh) . We have an apartment and would move to another apartment)
I am always incredibly impressed by people raising families in apartments/humbled by how quickly my ass adjusted to non-NYC living
The director I was working with in PwC had a similar situation. He rented a studio condo next to his apartment for work. Next means right next to his current and on the same floor.
move to Jersey city
