I was working in USA on F1-OPT visa. Due to the expiration of my student visa and not being selected in H1-B lottery, I was forced to resign from the US division of my company in July. I accepted an internal transfer to the Canadian division of my company before my resignation. (I might be able to get L1 visa and return to the US, but this is an extremely challenging route). The processing of my Canadian work permit visa caused a delay in my scheduled start date with the Canadian team. Cont.

I am in my green card process and it’s so long. Sometimes I look at my friends’ girlfriends or people I know who came to the states as au pairs or working in service industry and found a husband and they got their green cards so fast and I am so jealous. They got the freedom and now can do whatever they want in terms of work, travel etc. and I am still stuck here.

My plumber has been outside sorting fittings for 30 minutes(im not paying by hour) and I’m super anxious about what that means
