A friend is doing this and I want other opinions: Has anyone considered setting up a small franchise (one with lower cap reqs), using that revenue to set up a second one etc etc? It seems like a solid business plan and they claim it’s loads better than “joining the rat race” – Anyone know why this isn’t the amazing plan it seems to be?

It’s a lot of work

Not certain exactly, something like maybe 30-40k, but ofc repaying business loan on Franchise 2 so technically non profitable in first few yrs.

You mean like a subway or a sparkle cleaning company? I think to make money with it you have to really grind by doing the bad jobs yourself and rely on family members working for minimum wage.

There are others with low capital requirements like local companies (education centres, swimming lessons etc).

What’s the initial cap requirement? Can you give me more details

Have you ever taken a job you know you will hate because you needed the money right away? I have a family to take care of. I don't want to be plowing through our savings for selfish reasons like my mindframe at work, but I don't want to make our lives worse by being miserable. It's a matter of really ruining some of our financial future if we don't get money soon.

I really want to move out of my parents place for social reasons etc. I still hangout with friends a lot but it’s just a hassle having to drive a hour or so to kick it with them. So my dilemma is I enjoy saving $ on rent (yes I know can’t have both) but the main reason for me moving back home is so that I can save and buy a house. On the flip side with how expensive houses are right now it’s hard to even buy. I’m in CA btw SoCal. If anyone has any suggestion of places to live for a 26 YO TIA!

Does anyone stress about student loans? I have $176k in loans and as January gets closer, the panic attacks have gotten worser. I am in-house at a Real Estate company (making $90k), which is terrible bc they are going under due to the market. I am working to transition to big law for pay, job security and more technical skills. I am a 2019 grad and it just seems so hard to break into big law.

I just need advice on what to do. My mind is scattered and stressed! Thank you in advance!
