CS is way harder and more valuable than accounting
I picked the wrong career
Didn't we all?
First year CS grads make 120-170k all in at companies in the Bay Area
Big D was giving you the D.
That’s an unreal rate for an intern tho. Good for them
What is CS?
Y'all have no idea what you are talking about with these Bay Area comments. $95k puts you at 86th percentile of income. More than enough to live in the Bay Area.
Being an accountant in the Bay is a good life. CS grads get paid a lot out of Uni and that's fine. But all the tech money still trickles down to secondary services like accounting.
Counter-strike
True😂😜
One skillset is in more demand than another. Nothing surprising about that
If you are an accountant and live in the bay area you seriously need to blame yourself...
56 per hour is 116500 for an intern!
Agree with novogradac. Bay Area salaries get a little bump compared with the rest of the country, while doing less work (something about work life quality in the bay and keeping up with area standards). Ive been in the bay since staff 1 and think I’m doing pretty well for myself. The main sacrifice is getting used to a smaller living space. Other than that, the city is incredible and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. but my friend just came to me with his $460k CS offer (incl bonus and stocks) so there’s also that to deal with ...
^^ found the A1. LOL. FWIW cs = computer science.
OP: Whoa...... u jealous creature no wonder u got a D from bigD.
Is 120-170k in the Bay Area enough to live comfortably? I mean when is enough enough? Rent there for a 1 bedroom is like $3.5k or something, right?
Yes it’s more than enough. The point is it’s way more than big 4 senior salaries of 70-90k (not even first year) - what would consider that poverty?
Partner at Deloitte and 56 per hour is just wrong. It is 56k divided by 2000+ Hours or 28 per hour
$56 an hour in bay area isn't even a lot
