But I noticed it didn’t have a security latch/bolt. Thought it was odd but went about the week. Pulled 16 hour days so ordered room service basically every night. On the last night of my stay, I ate dinner and dozed off, TV on, lights on. I was out cold. I woke up to a room service guy IN MY ROOM. Startled me half to death. I just froze. He said “oh sorry. just came to get the tray”. I didn’t call for a pick up and every other night I just put my tray out. He left without incident but it freaked me out. NEVER EVER stay in a room without a security latch no matter how expensive. I will never stay there again.
I would have called the manager and demanded an explanation. This is definitely not normal.
This is ridiculous! You should report his incident. Who knows what else he did in the room? And what if you got hurt? That is unacceptable !
Which hotel was this?
Totally agree!! Had someone walk into my room one night, after what seemed like a hotel staff party. I woke up to someone saying, sorry wrong room. That was after 15 years of not using the deadbolt...and now...every time I'm in the room ( unless I need some points... ;) )
Thanks for sharing! I’m always scared when there is no deadbolt but I feel comfortable when it’s an upscale hotel. Now I will require that when making reservations...
