Sitting here drinking a white claw when I see my cat Bootsy watching me *very* intently. Reminded me of the end of last school year when I noticed a student discreetly recording me while I was eating my lunch. I saw her sitting there in her seat with the face of her phone angled in such a way that it appeared that the camera lens was aimed at me. "Are you recording me?" She put her phone down and murmured an affirmative. So sketchy. Have you ever had a student recording you discreetly?

I’m a litigator with a pre-law career in tech/financial services. My litigation career has virtually no tie to tech. I want to hire a resume writer to help taylor my resume to tech in-house product roles. Thoughts?

To the extent it matters, I’ve received interview invites (and have made it to the final rounds) with multiple tech companies without changing my resume at all. I think a really good resume writer could get me more interviews.

Have a partnership with my wife and trying to create some activity on other lines of the partnership return. The partnership is currently purely holding a C Corp which is day trading.
I was wondering if there were any consequences of investing in publicly traded partnerships (thinking oil/gas partnerships, investment partnerships (like IEP for example), etc.) Are there any problems with investing through the partnership I should be aware of?

Bought crypto in early 2018 and sold some this year for a loss. Didn’t keep super good track of my purchases but I have some rough figures in an excel file I was keeping at the time where I was able to roughly figure it out. I have about 1500 in losses, and I tried to be conservative when determining basis (ie, when in doubt, pick the lower basis). Has anyone been in this situation? I also have 400k in sales of stock so I am not sure if the combination of those 2 things will set off an audit?

I live in NJ but based out of an NYC office. However, since I worked from home in 2020, do I need to do anything different this year when filing my taxes? The issue is that I forgot to indicate I was working in NJ during the year when filling out my time. I’m assuming this information gets sent to the irs for tax purposes so it will appear that I live in NJ but worked in NYC for the year when in fact I was both living and working in NJ. Any advice?
