A large part of my job involves building models or making reports that involve copying numbers from one document to another. Sometimes, if I get interrupted, I lose my train of thought and make mistakes in getting the right number. Nothing disastrous has happened, but I’m trying to figure out how to get better at not losing my train of thought when doing work that basically involves looking up numbers from various documents. Any suggestions?

Work on minimizing interruptions -

Ok. Bake in a formula or two that would enable you to verify the accuracy of your work at distinct points in your work process. So eyeballing that can let you know if you keyed anything wrong while distinct points you pick will tell when and where you may have made that wrong.

The PE culture is sick. The 20 something VP was rude to our partner because our team took thanksgiving and the day before off and it was in the engagement letter that we were gonna be off. He kept emphasizing that his team did our job while we were on a break. Dude we are not sick like you and we have lives. I see something about how s**t the PE culture is in every deal we support.

Like these sickos make fun of us for working 80+ hours weeks for them and taking thanksgiving off.
