A lawyer friend got laid off and asked what he thought what be the most proactive thing to do right now- look for a job, volunteer, etc. I feel like it’s useless looking for jobs now. Thoughts?

What is a good interview answer for leaving a job after a few months when the real reason is that you’re sleeping with one eye open in hopes of not being on the chopping block after two rounds of massive layoffs? Company culture is at an all-time low, and it will only go down from here from what I’ve seen in the short months I’ve been there.

Is anyone else still unemployed since March/April layoffs or am I the last one? I’ve officially lost hope. Any careers that EA skills are easily transferable to? I have 10 years experience and am in a major metropolitan area. I’m looking for remote positions for obvious reasons, which I think is further impeding my success of landing something.

It's a permanent wfh job but looking at layoffs happening is what I'm concerned about as its a product based company.

Anyone dealt with age discrimination at work or thought they were fired because of it? I have a strong hunch I was let go because I'm older than most of the team and they're trying to get a "fresh perspective." To me it just sounds like they're firing anyone over 50.

Hence I joined the company but I was skeptical because it is product based food package manufacturing company. this is my 3 rd company.yoe -3.5 .net developer. Does anyone know the likelihood of successfully negotiating with Lyft’s insurance? A friend was injured in GA when a Lyft driver hit his car (his Tesla recorded the whole thing) and Lyft is pushing him to accept a pain and suffering payout. How much do M&A partners at midsized law firms make? How long is partnership track on average?

I'm having so much anxiety about my future. I am going to be an attorney in my country but things haven't worked out as planned and there's no job opportunities for financial crime compliance or regulatory compliance at my level. I'm planning to relocate to the US, I am skilled at policy writing, legal research and project mgmt. There's also transactional attorney career option. I don't know if it's necessary to become a US attorney to do what I love...I'm getting so much mixed advice.

Work in a jurisdiction where compensation is semi lockstep (each year group has a pay band with a few thousand scope). I have been given consistent praise by seniors including the partners. At remuneration time I asked where I sat on the band and they said pretty much in the middle. I’m satisfied with the package, but given the praise I thought I might be further up the band.
