I'm a long-time Houstonian who's been away for 7 years and is finally coming back for a visit!

Looking for new interesting or unique places to go. I like anything with a gimmick.

Old favorites include the Bookstop that was once a movie theater (closed years ago), Hobbit Cafe, 59 Diner, Treebeards, Phoenicia Market, the Angelika Theatre 😢.

GHIV update/retro: I was incorrectly too bullish the past 2 weeks (held 3k+ calls) and I increased my risk when I should have decreased it. Nonetheless those who took my low-risk strategy with $10 calls should still be up 100%+. The positive catalyst of the Tuesday webinar did not materialize because CEO was wary to influence stock price. Now the earnings report - which I am still very bullish on - is coming early February (merger is next week). GHIV still takes up most of my portfolio.

For those struggling with depression, what were some early symptoms you had? I’m having a hard time determining if I’m in a rut or am dealing with early signs of depression. I’ve lost interest in many things, feel as though I’m just here living each day the same as the last, no motivation, low libido, doomed outlook on the future, but not necessarily sad.

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞
