Lenovo X1 Carbon (their newest line comes out in Jan)!
I used my MacBook Air. I'm a huge fan of Mac.
I'd go with whatever PC is on sale then. no reason to shell out a fortune on something you only need for half a years worth of software.
Mac was a pain in the butt. I would choose lightweight PC, horsepower is less important since datasets and models are never too bad
Me too, but school requires Mac users to split their hard drive in half and install a Windows OS bc some courses require software that only runs on Windows. Might still be worth it to have a Mac tho...
Mac is good with the split. I use it for work.

Dell XPS 13, Lenovo X1 Carbon (3rd gen), MacBook Air 13"
8GB of RAM minimum, 256 for the HD if you're getting a MacBook because boot camp means you're installing 2 OS's worth of storage
The 12" Mac book, run VMWARE fusion for Windows. Likely your school will have free student licenses for VMWARE and Windows.
Thanks everyone!
The X1 Carbon is completely the way to go. Up to you whether you want the touchscreen or not
