I don't think you have options other than HDFC.
Pro
In orientation they will let u know the steps, it will be online account opening. You just need your pan and 1 original Id proof for E-KYC.
HDFC was good but my recent experience with them was not good. They upgraded my debit card without my consent and immediately charged it's fees on my savings account (This has happened twice). They reversed those charges when I raised concern but then it was unacceptable and unprofessional behaviour for me. Try kotak Mahindra or icici bank. These are much better banks than HDFC.
What HDFC is offering? I think i had some services which kotak offered (never used but felt good to have those) e.g. you can get Demand Draft at your home etc. If you open account with HDFC make sure you review bank statement thoroughly every month. I maintain exel for all bank accounts and credit cards, it helps me to capture all such "surprises" on all accounts/cards.
The easiest way will be to visit the branch directly. These banks support e-kyc ,but will definitely send their agents at home.
I visited branch directly ,paid for amount in cash, took my aadhar and pan (I don't remember which one got used).
It took 2-3 days for the process and I received debit card in a week after the confirmation.
Note: If you are joining a new company , bank representative are already there to pull you in. In that case go with them.
I have ICICI
Pros - they assign an RM and provide the One Salary account if your in hand is >1Lakh.
The debit card can be used any number of times for cash withdrawals in ICICI ATMs without charge
Higher withdrawal limits
Icici credit cards usually do have offers on ecomm sites although the reward structure is of no use
I have both HDFC and ICICI accounts, one savings acc and another salary.. I liked ICICI most, be it app interface, easiness of usage, net banking, customer support everything. I just opened HDFC to see how good are the facilities offered by biggest indian private bank. But I'm very disappointed with hdfc, it's no way near to ICICI
Go for government banks. SBI or union, thet have very low minimum balance requirement
