A not as discussed challenge of our jobs is driving the slides when others are speaking to them, leaving us to just read our PMD and Managers minds and then panicking when we flip the slides too soon 🙃

I was presenting to the c-suite… in-person… all the way to our global account leadership….

Computer does a “scheduled update restart” 15 minutes in.

No other person in the room as the deck (it’s all Partners who don’t actually read their emails).

I wanted to die. But, hey, we sold the next phase.

Our computers seriously hate us and choose the worst moments

If it makes you feel better:

1) We all flip slides for somebody, the somebody just becomes more senior over time.
2) The other challenges of the job ramp so significantly with level that eventually you will miss the sweet simplicity where advancing a slide too soon was significant enough to cause panic.

Hahah love this perspective

I always do that, but no one blames me for that, and I always speak at the same time with my manager. Then we both say go ahead, followed by a sec of silence, and then we both try to speak at the same time.

Planning to move to Austin. Is it a good place if I'd like to exit consulting a couple of years down the road?

Aside from your 1:1, how many total interactions do you have with your manager in a typical week? DMs, emails, meetings, shared documents, etc. Are you satisfied with the current level of interaction? Or wish it were higher or lower?

BCG India is extensively hiring folks for its consulting cohort.

Eligibility criteria : MBA degree from a Tier-1 institute, along with a min. of 2 years of experience (preferably in consulting)

If you fit the bill or know someone who does, drop me a DM.

Does anyone know how to obtain a “police check”/ certificate of clearance for immigration purposes from out of America? I used to live in NY and need to get it now but have no idea how from out of US.

Screening interview for Solution Engineer role. They have an old resume on file that mainly included Marketing Operations work in CRM platforms, since then I’ve revamped my resume to include more high level work like assessing potential vendors for a client, evaluating existing solution architecture and designing new solution architecture - should I mention in the screening call I have an updated resume? Also what should my general expectations be? Tia!

How many projects to include in a resume after 2-3 years of consulting? Clients names (y/n)? Anyone willing to share their resume

FileVine vs Clio vs Practice Panther

Anyone with a strong opinion? Used more than 1? Part of firm transition on FileVine to using the”vine”?

Also considering Clio Grow by itself for lead management.

Can you trust anyone at your firm?

New to this website try to fill out the log in the only thing bothers me is there's no custodial or maintenance not all about teachers there are others departments too. so I had to put security
Unless I missed something

So I started at a new role at a known retailer about 2 months ago. I am their first hire in this role, as I have more than 5 years of relevant experience leading initiatives and optimizing process across departments. While I understand it takes time to adjust to the culture, its seems like all I have witnessed is resistance to change. I already feel myself not wanting to be here long, but I'm putting pressure on myself to not be a quitter. Would you stick it out or start looking?

My supervisor left 2 months ago and I’ve been doing his job while they find a replacement. I know I have to put in my time but also want to make sure I’m not being taken advantage of.

LGB lawyers: do any of you play straight when you’re going into an unknown circumstance? I practice in a city but recently had to do a court appearance for a client out in a rural county state court. I made small talk with the judge before the hearing and he saw my wedding ring and asked about my wife (I’m gay, it’s a husband). I started talking about my “wife” because I didn’t want the judge to take anything out on my client. Not a horror story, but unfortunate. Anyone else?

Salesforce developers who transitioned to architects, what are some things you wish you did differently or just some general advice?

If it matters, im an SF dev with around a year and a half of sf experience and around 5 years of regular dev experience. Have completed the application architect side of the triangle, and am working on the system architect side now.

When you get put on a PIP, but your RL says "the raises and bonuses are terrible this year anyway so you didn't miss out on much"... 🖕🏼

Can someone explain what early retirement means? How does that work if you are a partner?

Just started my career at a rotational product management role straight out of college. But it’s been 6 months and I’ve yet to feel challenged (my product already has two PMs) . Every time I tell people, they always respond with what else do you want (as in just enjoy a relaxed job). Is it bad if I start looking for new opportunities only 6months- (or even wait until 1 year mark) before I start applying?
