Because partners get a report on Monday. I am a lateral associate and have been releasing time based on the firm’s deadline on Tuesday evening. I find it very frustrating that a Sunday deadline has not been made clear until now and am also wondering why he is now watching my hours so closely. This is very frustrating to me and I really just posted this to vent. But maybe someone has some advice/comments?

like

Sounds like he’s looking out for you - other partners look at those reports. He probably knew all your time wasn’t entered because he knew you were doing work for him. Be thankful for the tip and don’t be afraid to ask for the matter number in the future if you can’t find it!

This is the type of behavior that makes me really glad I’m not in biglaw anymore. I don’t think there is any advice to give, it’s just one of those “it’s always the associate’s fault” type deals.

The good news is that you have someone telling you the unwritten rules, though I'd be annoyed, too.

like

I'm sorry. I'm a lateral too and also trying too hard to figure out billing expectations. It really should be on the practice group partners to make them clear to us, seeing as we are new. Good luck ❤️

If you didn’t know the deadline or that time should have been entered daily, there’s nothing you could have done about it. Some partners glance over billed hours frequently, especially in their cases, because it can influence their draws. I wouldn’t take it personally or be concerned, unless your hours are really down. All told, I don’t think this is a big deal.

Hi, I am hired as senior test engineer for automation testing profile in EY AND WIPRO The reason I am not selecting EY is just because I don't have any practical exposure working in automation testing and I am afraid that it's better to work in Wipro and get practical exposure and then try for big brands like EY. Also, in EY I will be asked to work in client location. Where I might get into difficult situation Anyone would like to comment on this? Is my decision of selecting wipro correct?
