My temp contract has been extended. I’m relieved to be able to pay the bills, but after giving 70-80 shots a day, I literally dream about giving vaccines almost every night! Struggling to keep positive about finding a new permanent job - I was laid off at the end of April, have applied to over 60 jobs, had 6 interviews, and no offers. I can’t go back to chain retail - it damn near broke me in my 20’s, and it’s much worse now.
Wrong name or wrong pronunciation? Keep correcting him. He should feel stupid not you.
Wrong first name or wrong last name? It doesn't really matter I guess, but I think first names are more important to get right. My last name is Chinese and I think people confuse it for the name of the president of China, so I don't get too upset if I know they are trying to get it right (disappointing but not surprising).
Personally, I try to always correct it (sometimes in the moment it's easier to let it go) but if people butcher my name bc they don't bother to ask me how to pronounce or they repeatedly say it wrong after I correct them then they go on my "list" and I keep those people at a distance and generally don't try to get close personally. I would rather someone ask me pronunciation than to just keep butchering it.
