When you're sick as bleep, but you're too afraid to take the time away bc everyone is up against it, but then you realize, everyone is always up against it... at all times. Good times
One time my coworker and I on a trip thought we were walking into a new client meeting (good relationship, not cold) to get briefed. They told us Oh, we thought you were presenting. 2 hours to meeting. Open the laptop in the car as he drives down highway. Write a pitch presentation in Word. 3 half page ideas. It’s for their Olympics sponsorship activation and they’re a billion dollar company. Throw it up on the screen, dance around and bring the ideas to life. Won the business! Lol
Freelancer here. I typically charge by the hour. Picking up a side project that's a 360 campaign. Quick turnaround. How do you convert your hourly rate to a project rate?
Hi-looking for a mid level project manager/producer for social and campaigns in NYC. If you’re interested, shoot me a note with your CV at Phillip.Pessaro@mry.com. No recruiters please.
Which firm benefits/insurance should I enroll and skip? Will elect HSA and firm-paid disability insurance. How about employee critical illness insurance or long term care plan?
Currently exploring TA/Recruiting opportunities as a lead or manager level as my project is ending. I currently reside in Virginia and have worked remotely for several years know. I have over 15 years of recruiting as an individual and leader, supporting IT, Corporate, Engineering, etc.. Happy to have general discussion as appropriate. Thanks, Emerson
What are some ways to highlight your and your teams work in front of senior client executives on a regular basis. Goal is to get as much face time and exposure to senior leaders
*started on the project two days ago* Client: what’s the status of that thing we talked about 6 months ago? Me: ...
I am planning on giving my resignation notice in the next week. I still have sick days I want to use up. Does anyone know if I’m permitted to use my sick days during my notice period?
Going on month 4 of being on a project I was supposed to be rolled off of. Team is dragging their feet on a backfill (I can't leave until one is onboarded). Worried that the projects I was supposed to move onto will be full or too far along by the time they get their act together. Do I just quit? I can't stay stuck on here, but worried if I push it more aggressively then I'll catch hell. Thoughts? PM and PPMD are also both women cont.
Has anyone taken Wellbutrin and experienced side effects? I’m 3 weeks into trying it out, and it’s worked better and faster than my prior antidepressants. But this week I’ve started experiencing pretty nasty dizziness/vertigo, which came on suddenly Monday morning. I don’t know if it’s just the latest physical symptom of burnout (which has been making me sick a lot lately) or if I’m experiencing some kind of side effect from the new meds.
Anyone successfully negotiate compensation at firm that officially doesn’t allow for origination credit? Have brought in small clients in the past but this one is a big one and huge for the group and the firm. I’m not exactly doing this out of the goodness of my heart so would appreciate any advice on how to navigate the conversation. For reference, client specifically brought their work to my group so that they could work with me and it’s a personal contact of mine.
I’m on my notice period and will be off on leave in less than two weeks. Ive recently got bad flu symptoms and would need to take this week off as sick leave. Would that look bad? Don’t want to leave in bad terms
Appreciate the little things, folks. Like the moments when you’re not sick and can breathe normally through both nostrils. goddamn flu 😷
On my first all male project team (2 managers, and 1 junior resource). The Junior resource is 1 year my junior. I find that those 2 managers go through the junior consultant to give me updates. Can’t help but find it demeaning. Am I looking too much into it?
I’m currently on the bench and had a senior colleague reach out to me about assisting with a work item. I volunteered to help (but I can’t charge my time). There was (to my knowledge) an entire team of individuals working on the project up until last week so it seemed to me that my help wasn’t really needed. The project is spinning down and they’ve lessened the team members, but I’m still helping out with tasks. I don’t mind helping at all, but it seems weird. Am I thinking into this too much?
Hello everyone, I trust you are well! I need to create a project plan to migrate everything in my current QMS to a e-QMS, software. Does anyone have a project plan template that is customized or similar to a e-QMS migration? Thank you! I appreciate very much your help!
Starting a new project and I want to give SPG a shot.. Should I go with automatic SPG gold or do a challenge for Platinum. My project is only 5 weeks so not certain if I can do spg later
Amazon Wish List train! Drop the link to your classroom wishlist below. I would love to give back to some amazing teachers!
I’m transitioning from employee to independent contractor. Anyone have recommendations for easy time keeping management and invoicing? I will only have one client to invoice. TIA!!
Do those from MBB and BB banks have best shot at B School? I rarely hear about T2s and Big 4 getting into m7
Help!? Have 100k in cash (had been <stupidly> conservative about investing while paying loans). 90k addl. coming in to invest on annual basis going forward (what’s left of base + bonus after taxes, maxing 401k, and all expenses), which mostly comes in end of year bonus (55-60k post tax) and rest monthly (3kish a month). Only big goals are buying house (~$1.25M ballpark) in ~3yrs, contribute to 529 (plan for 1 kid) and maximize long term net worth potential. How would you approach it all?
Is anyone willing to give me a referral? Currently a customer engineer at Microsoft with 1 YOE, looking to move to a Solution Architect role at salesforce. Happy to discuss this further privately.
I've been getting interviews but have been struggling to move to the next round or closing an offer. Can anyone offer any advice or tips on what I can do?
Been working remote since the beginning of the pandemic. Back in the office in January and trying to finalize childcare. Recruiters connecting with me for new job opportunities. Scared to even consider a shift out of my current company where I may have some flexibility bc I've been there for so long, but they're dragging their feet with giving me a well deserved raise. So unsure what to do. Shift now, or cont to negotiate $ at current job or hit the road and let the childcare figure itself out.
any one here losing delta diamond due to the new amex spend req? assuming most consultants aren’t impacted
I’m manager level in a BizOps / Strategy role at a tech company (~5 YOE, hiring a team under me) in a T1 city. My base is 135k + equity. I feel like 150k base is the market rate right now for this level. I am doing separate research but does anyone else on here have thoughts on whether I’m being underpaid and should push for adjustment or find a new offer elsewhere?
Where do you work, and what educational benefits does your employer provide? Currently working full time and taking some classes toward my master’s. I’ve been at my firm for a little over 2 years as it was my first gig out of undergrad. It provides an annual stipend for education, but I’m bored, unchallenged, unfulfilled, and underpaid. I want to explore what other companies offer to make an educated decision as to whether I should go elsewhere. TIA!
Planning to do a PRM or FRM qual. How useful is it to move from Big 4 Risk and reg consulting to industry? Finding it hard to get anything other than non-PM roles
Accenture Strategy layoffs? .....👀
Have any of you taken FMLA leave due to a positive COVID case for a member of your household? My husband just tested positive for COVID and I am not sure yet if my 2 toddlers have it. In any event, even if they are healthy, they can’t go back to daycare for awhile so childcare is all on me. I’m wondering if I should apply for FMLA leave so I don’t completely crash my hours, but I am also not sure whether this situation qualifies for FMLA.
Hi everyone! I am relatively new to consulting space. I worked with Deloitte in a research role, but have joined an MBB firm at a more front end role. I have a slightly unconventional question to ask (might be political too), but since this is an anon platform, I hope to get honest answers. I wish to know does people care about your looks in consulting (specially when you are on a client facing role?) I am an Indian male, and I have acne (not a lot, but considerable). Cont. in comments
