A reminder: use the slow times to catch up on life, rather than wiling away the hours sitting at your desk waiting for emails to come in. This last week was my slowest in years, but used it to clean and organize my place, vehicle, and get the nursery ready for our first child. Time well spent.

Seen a lot of “my company is so amazing posts” continuously on LinkedIn a la “here at XYZ we give people lots of time off and it’s amazing” or even “so happy XYZ company allowed me to take maternity/paternity leave” - are folks just trying to look like team players or do employees get some sort of incentive for doing this at companies? I feel like the folks I see that work at Salesforce (for example) do this constantly and more so than other big companies.

What would you do if you started developing feelings for a colleague? I recently (earlier in the year) went through a breakup of a long term relationship but shockingly got over him pretty quickly once I moved back home and on my own. I started developing feelings for a colleague about a week or so ago mainly because he ticks off a few of my boxes and is just SO easy to chat to and get along with. Hi everyone I am relocating to Hyderabad next month. Even though I look forward to meeting new people I can’t seem to ignore the fact that I will move away from family. My family situation is already complicated, my mom and dad are not on good terms so we don’t live together and when I move it’ll get worse. I am financially independent but I feel guilty for not being there for them. Is there any possibility of getting transferred to Gurgaon office(a lot closer to my home)if I talk to my manager?

SO says I don’t acknowledge things for what they are and I try to find excuses. It’s been a big red flag for him and he sees it as immaturity and shadiness. I think he takes what I do the wrong way, and only try to explain my intent. I don’t know how to fix this

Real question: how does a hospital system using a leading EHR not know where in the facility a patient is? Father brought in via ambulance at 215pm.....and when my mother called a few hours later for an update on his status they had no idea where he was. She played “transfer me to Dept X bingo” (ED, med/surg, OR, PACU), til she found a nurse who knew where he was. How does this happen?

But now, he seems to be overly eager to be involved in the content creation process and is edging his way into what were previously my responsibilities. I understand there's a lot of overlap between demandgen and content marketing so what's the best way to work together w/out stepping on each other's toes?

I’m an HR Generalist. My job is a mix of recruitment and Employee Relations. I find the recruitment aspect to be pretty enjoyable and stress free, but the Employee Relations aspect does often give me a lot of anxiety (I’m a very anxious person to begin with). Recently, it’s been worse because I have several ER cases currently that seem like they could be potentially turning into lawsuits. Do others in ER experience these anxieties? If so, how do you manage them?

I was offered a promotion but due to internal policies the max comp they could offer was way under market value. I countered and was denied. I took time to think about it, being disappointed I applied for other jobs. Monday came and I decided to accept the offer. A week before starting my new position I got a call for one of the jobs I applied for. I am now going through to the last round of interviews the same week I start my new position. Would it be bad practice to accept another offer now?

Anyone at or heard of firms that were going with open offices, hoteling, or other alternatives to the traditional “dedicated” office situation, either pre-pandemic or now? My firm is giving one of these some thought and, frankly, they all sound awful, especially any kind of cubicle-type situation. Decision - I was out the door of my nationwide ins dfense firm. Was going to top local firm with a lot more clout where everything would be private pay and I’d be more on bigger exposure cases. However, my firm outmatched the new firm, made a much better bonus structure, and said I could do more work with their complex bus lit group. I’d still likely do about 50 percent ins defense but I really like the partners I work for, and I handle own cases/take depos, and get autonomy. Am I right to stay?
