A senior hr business partner, working in a reputed company with unorganised work culture, it's taking 15 hours a day to manage the responsibility. Is that means I'm incapable to do it? Senior people please throw me some insights.

It may mean that you need to identify tasks and which ones are taking the most amount of time to complete. I call it, slowing down to speed up. So basically scrutinize your failure then adjust accordingly.

One thing I can tell you is that this may be the most important job experience you ever have. Hang in there. Maybe you can make a difference.

Or move on to a more technologically progressive place.

It's a "fish or cut bait" decision. Good luck!

What do you mean by unorganized work culture? Are you a single BP working for a scrappy, reputed, start up? Can you share some more information?

Based on this answer, I don't think you're a failure; you're understaffed. Focus on hiring junior associates to get some work off your back and focus on making efficient processes. Even part-timers or contract-based workers would do as you put out fires as they out out smaller fires.

Try to target your most urgent tasks and projects to take them off your plate as soon as possible. You will never run out of work so might as well chew off some of the ones you already have.

I just left an extremely chaotic workplace where my manager just contributed to the chaos. It helped having colleagues to share/affirm my experience so I knew it wasnt me but the environment that was the problem. Perhaps you can build your internal network to validate your experience and share coping mechanisms?

Hi everyone,
I want to learn Salesforce Tableau CRM (formerly known as Einstein Analytics) and switch to a different organisation. In my current company stuck in a project where there's no learning scope, no growth and work culture is toxic. Hi all! Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!

Has anyone been termed for performance?

Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. I work for a 350~ company who is growing rapidly through M&A. Passions/interests are compliance, strategic vision, M&A, branding and culture

I’m not old BUT when I was younger I thought it was important to have all the alphabets after my name (I.e. Phr, SHRM and all the others). I learning that the younger crowd coming into the market thrives off these identifiers yet they know very little about the real world aspects of the job. I watch leadership roll their eyes at the email footers. I feel like keeping those attached to my name hurts my credibility so I removed them…. I’m I thinking wrong?
