I'm a new first year associate, almost two weeks in. Have to ask: is it normal to have almost no idea what's going on? I know my teams view me as completely clueless (which is 100% accurate), but whenever I ask for an explanation/they go over something with me, I'm still left feeling like they're speaking a different language. Is it just me? Every time I do a task I get so nervous I'm screwing up big time because it's like I'm stumbling around in the dark. What can I do to improve?

Anyone have advice on how to graciously leave a very small law firm? I’m the only full time associate and feeling guilty about leaving. I have an in house offer that I’m extremely excited to take however and I want to give notice early so the transition won’t be too bad. I’m just nervous and hate that I have to have this convo. My current employer doesn’t know I was looking for a new job.

I have so much anxiety about my work! Everything I file or serve (discovery, motions etc) has to be triple checked by myself and I fight the urge to ask my coworkers dumb confirming questions (mostly to ease my anxiety). Is this normal?

This is really random but does anyone else have a dog that is always moving their bed around and throwing pillows off of furniture? I am currently working as a project structural engineer in London and I feel like structural engineering is a dead end job. I have spoken with engineers with 10years+ of experience and their salary is just over 50k.
