Yes. Can't tell you the source. But that's not uncommon in consulting. They start with lowest performers when things go south so rest of firm can survive. This is not a normal industry job. High turnovers, both voluntary and forced, are expected. Just gets worse when work is scarce and work is scarce right now across the industry.
Also this is in addition to the up and out - anecdotally I heard of newly promoted consultants being let go due to chargeabi kitty

I don't think you are the only ones. PWC is laying off a bunch of people across the board.
There was a heavy bench at Accenture Strategy - and heard about RIF- didn't know about 10% number

I can sense that. Our bench numbers are high
Strategy has an up or elsewhere policy now. Don't get promoted in the years expected (aggressive) and you'll be pushed out
It's also why pay went up significantly and all strategy people ready for promotion for it in December

@A2 yup. There was this one guy I knew who just got back from paternity leave and struggled to find a project for the last 2 months. Was gonna reach out to him today but realized his name was no longer in the system.

I think this is just the first round of layoffs and there will be more from what I was told; whatever you do stay OFF the bench & keep your chargeability high
@A4 getting laid off doesn't sound very cool
@OP do you have a source or is this your feeling? I only ask because 10% is a significant reduction
