Census results, redistricting, and gerrymandering is what will win 2022 for republicans. The big blue cities in red states will lose their power.

Sure PwC1 that’s why the dems will lose… nasty republicans and their dirty tricks. 🙄 nothing to do with performance

Yesterday's performance in Virginia, where redistricting wasn't a factor, showed that performance did play a role. Looking at 2022, the biggest variable in the House will be states getting new congressional seats and the redistricting that comes with it. Republican strongholds are gaining seats and blue states are losing seats, and republican-led states are often far more extreme in their redistricting/gerrymandering than blue states. If you need an example, just look at how Texas redistricted to add their new seat.
Why do you think it's crazy to think that republicans will pick up new seats when republican held states are given new congressional seats for which they get to draw the districts, and when many of the seats came from blue states?
Both parties realize the importance of social media promotion in a campaign. Republicans currently have the advantage there because they’ve been winning the meme game. They’re not concerned with offending people, which makes for funnier jokes and content, which gets shared more often, etc etc

Conservative meme game is quite strong. They give less F’s and seem to have meme perfected the meme factory
Republicans have been winning the social media game since 2014 midterms. It just didn’t get understood well until 2016-2020.
I think this an interesting dichotomy between the parties. Conservatives have often relied on talk radio / distributed content. Progressives have relied on traditional news media / schools. With the shift to podcast / web based content I think we have a game changer for the parties.
