I have been buying more equities every paycheck. Time in market better than timing the market.
This guy invests.
Don’t time the market
Would read up on some bogglehead threads, but this is one of the most common investing “mistakes”
Depends on your use of money.
If you aren’t retiring for the next 10 years, just stay put.
~4 months ago I pulled out my retirement $$ as well (holding in bonds). Sure, I may have missed some dividend payments (I can live with that) but I think we’ve hit our ceiling. Possible for small gains but not enough to take on the risk of 1 black swan event . Saying goes: pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered.
Stupid move.
It's gold o' clock
Agree with you OP
Agree with what?
Haven’t made net withdrawals, but I shifted equity / fixed income allocation from 90/10 to 80/20 last year, and marginal allocations to 50/50.
Yeah, portfolio risk adjustment is a much smarter (and necessary) move than cashing out and tucking it under a mattress!
Keep the 401K on the riskiest assets you can digest and redeploy post-tax investments to safer assets. The 401K saves you capital gain tax, so you want your highest-risk / highest returns there
Don’t do this.
If you dont have perfect information, trying to predict the future is a guessing game. Good luck playing the market part time with a relatively small amount.
