When you get in late the night before from the office and have to leave early for your 7am flight with a long layover you shower and shave at MIA Admirals Club instead of home to avoid disturbing wife
When you turn on the hotel shower then leave a second and come back and the tub is plugged so you have to take a shower in ankle deep water 😑😑
What are some “safe” but interesting conversation topics you have on hand to connect & build rapport w clients (e.g., upcoming travel, sports, non-controversial news, etc.)?
Hello 🐠, I’m building a site where you can find travel recommendations from your friends and family! It seems like I’m not the only one who asks around for word of mouth suggestions (looking at the posts on this bowl 🙂). With all of the travelling that we do (pre/post covid) I know you all have great recommendations from personal, flex, and work travel. It’ll be launching soon so please sign up if sounds like something you’d use - I’d also love to get your thoughts! www.travoshare.com
Have had two really bad experiences at a hotel. Front desk is useless. Want to escalate to Bonvoy when I get back home but using the web form seems to end in another dead end. Any suggestions?
On first flight after months taking the train. Much less leg room in coach. Also, there's a major general in the air force here in coach. Interesting start to a Friday.
Is anyone subscribed to a meal delivery service like HelloFresh, Blue Apron, Green Chef, etc? I'm looking for recommendations for a Friday delivery. Want to try this on days that I'm home from travel.
People familiar with DFW airport: if I have a boarding pass for a non-American flight out of Terminal E, can I still go through security via Terminal D? Thanks.
EY just changed (gutted) their Frequent Traveler program to better align to "like" organizations. Curious what perks other firms offer for people who travel their lives away?
Earning 108k as an SC in Chicago, offered 160k base + 115k stock at a Bay Area tech company. Yay or nay? Eligible for more stock every year, similar role but zero travel. Decent but not great perks
Could someone from Digital McKinsey elaborate on what the case interview is like? I was told it was specific to my discipline but not more. TIA!
I wonder if leadership knows that a majority of the staff about to get promoted to senior are going to quit. Do you think they will do anything to keep people around? Similar to bank your bonus.
Pet peeve: companies that ask for 5+ years of experience for a job they consider "entry level" and pay an entry level salary. Say what??
Any change management / culture change practices are hiring? 7 YOE in OD, looking for new opportunities
Yesterday, I got robbed and had to go home after and complete my MBA exam on ethics.. The irony made it great 🙄😔
Is it possible to get into a top mba program as someone with two years of audit experience if I get a high gmat?
Intern hire set to start Oct (Healthcare/MC)... All the layoff posts have me a bit concerned, and has me considering other options. Am I overreacting?
I guess they are not in a hiring freeze anymore. Strange. Here’s the link: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/liz-taylor-651a4644_leo-burnett-is-looking-for-a-full-time-activity-6690088397144428544-Vc7Z
For experienced folks out there, how did you figure out the office politics and company culture? What were your lessons learned?
Going through the interview process - made the mistake of putting down an expected salary early on. Do I have to stick to this or will I still be able to negotiate later on?
Was due for a laptop upgrade this month snd usually get the first email around 6 months earlier. In light of COVID, anybody know the approx. delay?
Just started a new project at Deloitte and got an offer from a competitor on the first day of the project - what is the best way to approach with team? Don’t want to leave the team out to dry.
Have an offer leaving D as a 3rd year SC - Director at insurance company, $180 base + 15% bonus + $85k signing (includes relocation). Solid package or should I go back for more?
Working on a potential offer to join leadership team of 3 co-founders as essentially the CEO-1 for 2 tech delivery firms of <50 people. They've asked me to outline an OTE based in base salary and % of revenue, haven't really negotiated this before, any insights in how to decide my ask?
Anyone else just sitting around waiting for the ax to drop? I'm a soon to be 2nd year corporate associate who has seen work completely dry up. My utilization held pretty steady around 50% immediately after shutdown, but August was below 15 billables with no appreciable work in the pipeline. Aside from letting people know I'm available and doing pro-bono/CLE, it's starting to feel like a serious "covidcation" leading to termination.
What the salary for your firm's Workday practice? Say for someone who's already certified in multiple finance functional areas and gone through 2 full end to end lifecycles?
