I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

Used to work as an analytical chemist in biotech for 4 yrs. Primarily in the formulations/cancer therapeutic space. Have a Human Bio degree. The only way to make more money is to get higher education or pivot into another career.
The S in stem is legit the worse letter in STEM for making money for the amount of rigor the education entails.
Unfortunately, intelligence doesn't necessarily equate to being wealthy or being treated as extremely valued despite what the education system has taught us.
Your average Software Engineer at a top tech company will probably make more than Dentists, PhD Scientists, healthcare workers, etc. The very experienced Engineers at those same companies are also making the same or even way more than doctors, lawyers, etc. On the complete opposite side, you have content creators on social media making insane amounts of money (6-8 figures) and majority of them aren't close to the same intelligence level as your very highly educated individuals.
Unfortunately life is not always fair.
