Hah spot on! Exactly what I was trying to avoid.
Get used to having body fluids all over your new wardrobe. Being a dad is not the best time to step up your style game.
Truth. Get comfy clothes that are also durable. Anything nice you own will get destroyed over the next couple of years.
What does becoming a dad have to do with updating your style game? Just don’t try to be to trending - like those MDs who wear suits with no socks and dress shoes. Tools.
Maybe I'm outta touch but I kinda like that style, shoes and no socks.
Menlo club is a great monthly subscription that fits most of what you’re looking for
I would go with g-star raw over shirts, j crew chinos and ferragamo driving shoes. Also, upgrade your boot game and barbour vest game. My son is four, and I just went through a style upgrade. LOL. Trunk club is good for inspiration.
Not a dad yet, but I’ve lent this advice to friends and they’ve been appreciative: the first year you’re going for easy clean-up, low maintenance, quick wardrobes because most of your time will be spent on your newborn. As your newborn grows, your wardrobe will definitely mature, especially if you and your wife enjoy styling as a family. But for the most part, plan for comfort and convenience (with slight styling notes, minimalist chic) and escalate as your child grows.
IMO, yes.
