I checked with few of my connections, they saying I will be mostly allocated to Salesforce industries (Vlocity) project. Please suggest about the team structure and work life balance for this role.
and also in future, is it possible to apply for IJP in Salesforce ?

4 week vacation in first year is incredibly ballsy, wedding or no wedding.

65% means that u are like at 1300 if the target is 2000. That is pretty low. Also even the not great associates get great reviews usually when you are a junior.

Who knows. Just putting it out there that 1300 is not fine. You should seek out for work even as a first year with those hours. This is coming from a person who is not a gunner but consistently bills 1900-2000 ish to take bonus home.
Just talk to one of the partners openly. If there is one thing I am still learning it’s that you can talk to your closest partners like colleagues and get honest straight feedback. Hopefully they’re willing to give that to you and not hide anything.

You’re a specialist. Even at busy firms, 2000 is seen as a lot for a specialist. I know some specialists in firms like Kirkland, Latham and Goodwin on track for 1700-1800.

It depends on your practice area. For my practice, my partner said no first year ever billed over 1400.

A7, over 80% or not it still depends on the practice group. If everyone in OP’s group is way over target, there might be a problem. If everyone in OP’s group is low, then it is likely ok.
Same boat. I think I’ll hit ~1400

Partner here. You are probably fine. But if your firm starts laying people off, your name will likely be on the recommended layoff list and the partners you work for will have to save you. Unfortunately, saving sometimes mean sacrificing another associate (to make layoffs equal amongst groups based on hours) and even that can be a hard sell if the other person hit hours and you didn't. Ultimately, the best advice is to get busy and hit hours if you want to avoid the chopping block and when that is not possible you should at least try to out bill your peers.

Thank you for laying out how it works! I've always wondered what this conversation looks like. My hours this year are extremely low (like 1,300) but I am the only associate at the firm in my group / with my skill set (it's been a slow year, plus lateral ramp up and a vacation that was planned prior to joining). I know I'm probably going to end up on that list eventually, so I'm happy to know that a partner advocating for me can make a difference.
(I think)

Yes. If the firm says you’re not, then it doesn’t sound like a place to stay long term.
