About to get an offer for head of people for 150k I know this company is about to get picked up by a private equity company, so I’m sure the workload is going to double and require some M&A and growth ,That being said I feel like I should ask for a higher salary with that workload coming my way anyways to counter this offer would be helpful?

Head of people role, negotiate entire package to include: professional development money annually (memberships/confs), higher PTO if it is not unlimited (you want to bring your best to the job and balance it with regular mental health breaks), much higher salary….say you plan to give 110% and know how to manage through large transitions which will take a lot of work, plus this is below comp standards for the role. Have a number to ask, is it 200k? Say that. Is there a bonus? Ask about stock/RSUs. If they get bought and sold, you want to earn from that. If they don’t offer it today, ask for future stock be to granted at the time of an Acquistion. Ask, Ask, Ask. And then meet somewhere that you feel good about. I would personally resent doing all that work for 150k. I’ve been with a PE backed company, it’s alot

Make your case for the amount of work that is going to be added to the current job description, and give examples of where your skill set is going for be valuable for the additional task like M&A, etc. If they won’t negotiate salary, go for bonus structure or a signing bonus. Good luck!

Have you ever accepted an offer somewhere, and then a week later your current agency countered with a promotion and a higher salary than the other offer? I want to take the counter from my current place, but I don’t want to soil my reputation for revoking my acceptance. They are trying hard to retain me. Also, will I have a target on my back if I stay and they knew I was going to leave? I am also just grateful to have options and want to acknowledge that.

I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members.

I interviewed for a Sr. HRBP/Generalist role and based on my experience (11 years, 2 as a manager, education (Masters in HRM) asked for 120K - 130k range. They decided to move forward with the interview process and then made me an offer for 110k with $9,500 bonus and said will review comp again in October. This is much lower than I expected for the base. Any good negotiators with good tips to use to counter offer? One mistake I made is to let them know that my current job ends Feb 28th. Thank

I know there are definitely worse out there so it’s hard to put my foot down and resign, I could just stick it out for a year but am feeling demotivated and too exhausted to do anything else but sleep after hours/weekends.
