Unlike a lot of stories, I actually love my group and feel really guilty leaving - my seniors genuinely care so much about me, but ultimately I’ve closed enough deals where it’s just repetition and I don’t want to wake up 40 one day with nothing to show for my life except 20 years crankiin the office and whatever many deals I’ll have closed by then. what’s the best way to go about breaking the news?

I am an associate at a small firm and was licensed last fall. I clerked at this firm through law school, so I knew most of the partners before starting as an attorney full time, except some of the new ones we have acquired since. I have several cases that I am the only responsible attorney on and quite frankly, feel like I have no clue what I’m doing half the time. I ask questions, but feel like I’m being a nuisance if I ask too many. I guess I didn’t expect to be solely (cont. in comments)

Has anyone ever left finance (or know someone that has) to do something completely different? My experience is split between FP&A and accounting and while I have progressed, I am becoming depressed b/c I feel like I’m in the wrong field. I am generally a motivated, high performing person, but I al starting to slip up and care less, b/c my work is not satisfying to me. I know I just sound like a complainer, but does anyone have any advice?

I got a job offer for what seems to be a great company but I’m not sure if I would have the same life balance. I started interviewing as a way to see my worth in the industry. My current role is at a small company, and I’m not sure how I could grow within the role because Im not advancing my skill, I just do the same thing every day at a lower level. I like my current role because it’s flexible and I’m paid well for not doing very much work. Should I switch to a more rigorous job?

I am learning Big Data at the moment, and have knowledge of Python and ML, AI, SQL, Tableau.

Have no knowledge of DSA though.

YOE 5 years. What are the next skills that I can aim for to get a much higher CTC, or is this enough and more practice and projects are enough?

I started a company just under 1 year ago. We sell a product via ecom channels and have done ~100K in revenue with a 60% gross margin.

The first 6 months I was working a full time job. I quit my job to focus on the business full time, and have since depleted my readily available capital. I’m bootstrapping the business with my own funds. I was recently offered a job in my old industry for 80K per year. I was previously making 62K.

Is the WLB in estate planning the best compared to any area of law? I’m currently in employment litigation and health law litigation and find myself gravitating to elder law/T&E? Is it possible to make this switch?

My firm is really great. Mid sized regional firm. People are great, work is great. But I’m a junior and there are zero mid levels in my specific office. I’m questioning if I am getting the proper training as other juniors at other firms. The pay is good for a firm of this size with its presence, but feel like someone with my level of experience should be trying to get the proper training in order to succeed as I progress.
