About to tell a commercial seller’s counsel (who wrote the subject contract) that their warranty disclaimer fails because of a typo from “or” to “of” and it’s the most alive I’ve felt in months.

Starting to interview candidates for an analyst/project manager position reporting to me. I haven’t interviewed (as an interviewer or interviewee) is years. What are some favorite questions you have asked or been asked? My company has a bank of questions, but not loving what I am reading. I want to find someone who has the ability to help create (with help) and lead a new project. There is interaction with other departments and some senior leadership. Thanks!

As a junior associate at a boutique firm, one of my biggest stressors is navigating how involved partners want me to be on their cases. Some expect me to just take initiative to get the ball rolling on filings with upcoming deadlines, and others don’t want me to touch anything until they explicitly ask me to. I offer to do things and communicate what I’m working on, but I worry that I’m overstepping by assuming it’s ok for me to work on stuff without first being asked. Advice? Can anyone relate?

How do I handle another associate taking all of my billable work? I am relatively new to the firm, so I have very few cases of my own at the moment. I struggle to get hours. The other associate has many more cases of their own. However, every time we get new documents, assignments, etc on my few cases, the other associate rushes and bills for it. At the end of the month, I have so few hours that I feel useless to the firm.

In my home country, we never tell our current colleagues where we are going when we leave a job, especially if it’s going to a competitor. However, in the US, it seems that it’s common people will share that information easily. I’m usually afraid that they would call up my new firm behind my back and badmouth me.

Would you buy a $650k house on a $185k gross a year income? We could scrap together about a $100k down payment. A lot more than I want to spend now (although wife and I though we might buy a house like that in 4-5 years assuming we both continued to advance in our careers), but our perfect home just listed. It’s very unique and checks basically every one of our boxes.
