I feel the same way! I took a vacation for 5 days, and thought I’d have been rested to efficiently work. But now, I’m just falling behind with all of my tasks (that obviously stacked up while I was away… so much for “enjoy your break”).
I feel like my project also doesn’t have a culture that allows me to candidly talk about what i feel or am going through, cause we’re always supposed to be 100% - or at least give off the vibe as such.
Let me know what you do OP, cause I feel like if PTO won’t help me resolve my overall burn out state, I don’t know what will.
Thank you 😓 honestly I think it’s the intensity and hours of our jobs on top of everything else that’s been going on for the last year and a half. A lot of my peers have quit but this is the first time I’ve really considered it.
I’ve been out for 2+ weeks on vacation and will be back Monday. Super dreading it. I feel rested and I finally have excitement for things in life again (which I totally lost while working, I wanted to spend all my free time in bed). Nervous about going back to work and sinking back into the exhaustion and burn out and losing the ability to keep with things I want to do with my life outside of work
It just feels there is no amount of time to recover cause even when the first week back things start going like shit and I’m burnt out very quickly after every vacation
This! I’m glad you’re well rested though. I’m still sleeping until noon where I’m at and still feel stressed and tired

Is it the end of the world if the down payment takes 6 months longer?
To be honest I feel like missing that goal would just stress me out further

What if you found a new job with a healthy sign on bonus and a raise and negotiated a start date well into the future?
I’m really, really thinking about it. I guess I just don’t know what I want to do or where I would want to go. I’ve worked in industry and preferred consulting but I think the last year is taking its toll. Accenture gives the least amount of time off but not sure if I’ll feel better elsewhere
