If I land it the trajectory of my life and that of my family changes but I'm starting to feel the pressure. I haven't had a lot of traction for job searching since I graduated in December so this is the best lead I have and I'm getting scared now.

Don't if you ever want to be on an interesting project again
Don't
I was switched to CD&O and I want to quit
Don't
Cdo's stop being consultants, you're just an operations drone at that point.
You never voluntarily switch to CD&O. You fight it, and they switch you anyway. Then you quit. (At least that's my story)
Don't do it. I switched from CD&O to C&M. So much better. More interesting, better $, more strategic, less programmatic.
You might not have a choice.
Don't stress but I would try to get on a C&M project. I've heard if your charging to an AO project it can ding you in performance reviews. Not sure how accurate that is, but some people in strategy were on AO (CD&O) projects therefore not coding to strategy and couldn't get promoted that year. Im cognizant and careful because of that.
Don't'. Plus, the benefits are not the same. Less PTO, etc.
I just started and while right now I'm C&M, my first project is CD&O and so are most projects in my area, should I stress?
A7 - you are essentially right. We do try to fix the project alignment of folks to avoid impacts of being staffed on a "wrong" project or role. Also, the longer you are on AO projects, the more they'll try to move you over to CD&O if they can't fix your project.
Ya I talked my to my manager about it. Might have to leave my role if it had implications. Which they are willing to release me if it means not changing my career path but I really like my team
Isn't Accenture technology same as cd&o? I thought most of us are being moved to technology unless you are strategy or digital.
Majority of the technology people are now cd&o. As A12 said, unless you are aligned to strategy or digital, very unlikely you can fight to stay on c&m. However, you should also consider that most of the bad rep that cd&o had may no longer apply. Before quitting, ask your DTE leadership, start with your CC. What I know is I am still getting same kind of projects available, same people I worked with before are who I work with now. Will see how the comps will align 😂
What about Consulting? They're staying c&m right?
A7, please explain how you got into C&M. Trying to do the same.
MC is still C&M, so not just strategy and digital.
Agree with A13. CD&O has changed a lot over the last 6 months. I wouldn't be so quick to run from it as long as you are still getting the interesting work. That said I switched from CD&O to C&M earlier this year. A7, easiest way is to have an MD sponsor you. You have to "reapply" to a C&M role - basically like reapplying for a new job. But with MD support it's much easier (though takes a long time). Also you need to already be in a C&M role.
Check the benefits. Last I heard CD&O only did 3% 401k match, and less vacation time.
