Accenture made me an offer some time ago. They were going to train/teach me their insurance product Duck Creek. Does anyone know how thorough their Duck Creek training is? Is it adequate for BA's?

I've been a BA on a duck creek project before. Wasn't given any training for it, my role wasn't very technical and so didn't feel like it was needed. There were people in my team who had a fair bit of experience with the product and were able to help if needed.

And your colleagues were willing to help and didn't seem annoyed? If you didn't know the product that well, how well did your requirements workshops go?

In my experience it's pretty common to be sold as an expert to the client but not know anything about their business area going in. It's our job to work it out and know their business better than they do, that's why they hire us.
We have all the resources to learn and the culture (in my experience) at Accenture is hugely supportive; experts love sharing knowledge and helping others upskill.
If you are genuinely keen to learn I have never had anyone (including very senior people from the other side of the world) unwilling to help you grow and learn.

Thank you A1!

Feeling really lonely this holiday season and I think it's time for a change. I love my job but I'm realizing I devote too much time to it. I would really like to expand my social circle and potentially meet someone, but I don't really know where to start. Ideally my partner would also work in healthcare, but it isn't a dealbreaker for me. Ladies what should I do?? I'm a 32 year old woman with no kids.

Hello all!

I’m a MSN, RN with 7 years of critical care nursing experience (ICU/PACU). Prior to becoming a nurse, I was a Medical Service Corps officer in the US Army for 8 years. I have my BSN/MSN and a non-nursing MA.
I’m interested in shifting gears to healthcare consulting. I’ve heard great things about Chartis and would love to hear more, specifically with regards to nurses making the jump. Can anyone offer insight or any other consulting firm they recommend?
Thank you in advance!

I'm at a career juncture and have decided on a career in anti-money laundering as my new path. I'm also highly interested in additional education to further my career and am eyeing graduate school. Which is best? A law degree or a master's in international relations? Those are where my interests lie. I keep reading that JDs are valued in compliance but am wondering if a different graduate program is better for my goals. I already plan to obtain the CAMS certification. Thank you!

Hi everyone! I work in personal lines and I’m looking to start selling more life insurance. I want to start with cross selling to those in our book of business. Does anyone have tips that they’ve found successful in starting the conversation? Term/perm convos etc? I’ve read up on our products and my boss doesn’t really train on this and it’s more of a figure it out yourself approach he takes so any tips would be appreciated.

How much would a 30 day supply of Vyvanse (30mg) cost me after insurance? I know this is going to vary by plan but I'm still curious as to know how expensive of a medication this is.

My pharmacy informed me that the insurance will not cover without authorization from the psych. My psych was wary about this & instead suggested Ritalin during my session. He mentioned that insurance companies want us to first try Ritalin because they are generally cheaper. How much truth is there to this? Thanks!

Hi friends, Got two offers. One with: Humana(Remote)[Insurance based company]and another with Mastercard(Hybrid) (Ofallon, MO)-need to relocate after 6 months. Both are for Senior software Engineer. Humana- TC= 155K, Mastercard-TC=175. Which is a better option, as talk are going on that, recession will happen soon. I’m confused to choose, as some say Insurance company doesn’t get effected with recession. Please suggest.

I had a meeting this week where the partners told me they questioned my commitment because they were working more hours than me.

Am I the problem here and should work more, or is it time to find a new job?
