Idk about you but those Lenovo thinkpads are my favorite windows laptops. I’m still annoyed PwC moved away from them to give us these HP elite books

If primarily creating slides and sending email then yea I would prefer a surface over anything. I work with large datasets and need a more powerful machine so even if I had the option for a surface I’d choose something else
I use an elite book and like it just fine. Met a coworker for coffee who started one month before me and found out she got a brand new one when she started…I was not as fortunate.
I was given a MacBook Pro so I’m good
I regret taking Dell. I miss the Thinkpads.
I find this amusing. I’ve worked on consulting for 4 years and I have no clue what computer I have. Couldn’t tell you the manufacturer without turning it around and looking for the label.

Ah, gotcha. Wasn’t clear from the original post. Surface Laptops are tremendously middling in terms of performance. They work well for college kids copy pasting assignments from the internet or PPMDs who need to hit approval links and review decks. All others need some more horsepower.
