Accepted a new tech role at a bank, however I am doubting whether I want to work in tech at a bank or at a solely tech focused company. If anyone else has been in the same position I’d love advice

I didn’t work for a bank directly but worked in financial sector and can tell you that unless it’s a small company that started with a tech focus ( HFT) then you will fall behind on best practices and experience you could get at tech firm. Also, be prepared to make 30-50% what peers make in straight tech.

Having worked at a big bank, I would opt for a tech company. If it’s a neobank though, that seems way more tech forward.

Good morning!

Still trying to figure out this whole Fishbowl thing, so here goes my first post.

I would love to get into provider credentialing, but all employers I've looked at want at least 3 years of experience. So, I'm looking at Provider Network Coordinator roles, because I'm finding some of those roles don't need AS MUCH experience. I'm a RHIT, and have been working in healthcare for nearly 10 years.

Any input on employers is appreciated!

Received a verbal job offer on Tues. $5k short of what I had said was my desired range but still up from my current salary. We set up a call for Thurs to discuss further. On Wed they sent me all benefits info. Thursday on the call I asked if we could either increase moving stipend or get closer to my desired salary. They said no, and I asked them to send over written offer and I would let them know by Fri. They then email they are no longer offering me the position and repost it the next day:

[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture

I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am

I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)

Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

Going through a rough patch in relationship of 3yrs almost… we are both super independent to the point where we do a lot separately. (I.e he will go golf , I’ll go ride my horses.). But the things we DO do together he always invites his brother/family, like when we went to a day ranch trip the other day. Also, when he doesn’t want to do something I want to do, he just doesn’t do it whereas I compromise.

I’m just feeling a bit conflicted and lonely right now and don’t know how to talk to him.
