Accepted a Senior Accounting role on the client side recently. Wanted to see if that’s a good filler role for a year or so to eventually transition into an FP&A role. Anyone out here been in a similar situation? Are you happy with the switch? The industry doesn’t really hire audit seniors into an FP&A role (Based on my experience). let me know your thoughts.

Hi! I'm currently interviewing (3/6 interviews so far) for for an appeals manager role for DME. The job entails not only to bill for dme (cms 1500) but also to follow up on any denials or appeals, amongst other administrative duties. My questions are is it typical to have 1 person doing both the billing and denials within a new vertical for all ins.? How difficult is billing for dme as I only have experience in gyn onc and lactation billing? What's a fair salary? I have 8+ yoe in rcm, no certs.

Are any of the paralegal exams worth it? Just spent some time looking at the requirements for PACE. I have a bachelors (and masters), neither in paralegal studies, no paralegal cert, but 9 years of experience. About 4 years in T&E and the last 5 in house corporate. Obviously haven’t had issues getting hired without a cert, but working on my development plan for my performance review and thinking about continuing ed. Curious for your thoughts. TIA!

Hi everyone, I need your advice! I recently declined a return offer from an internship but then found a role that I'm more interested in at the same company. How should I navigate this?

Planning out my promotion within my current firm. Can I switch jobs once I receive my EAD or can I switch once I-485 is pending >180 days without restarting PERM?

Alternatively, can I switch just with I-140 approval? Does the role have to be >50% similarity to be under AC21 portability?

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

Left big four as a first year manager for a controller role with a smaller audit client. When I left I had no idea what my long term goal was or where I wanted to end up. Half a year into the new gig and realize it’s not what I want to do. I don’t think I realized the pros of a manager role for a large company at the time, or even a service line change within big four. My daily tasks are repetitive and not challenging and there’s more small stuff to deal with. What should my next move be?

Ok fishbowl family - I need advice. Rising senior 1 here and realizing that I genuinely get no joy out of audit. I want to do FP&A. I’m a senior II and recruiters have told me it’s tough to get into with only Big4 experience. Is this true? Do you suggest doing more of a senior acct role then internal transfer?
